We hosted “A Coffee with a Cop” last Friday at Amphora Restaurant and Diner located in Herndon, VA. This event was a chance to ask questions and voice concerns to the Police Department of Herndon represented by Maggie DeBoard Chief of Herndon Police, and to Mark Herring, Attorney General of Virginia.
We had a wonderful time hosting this event because here at Amphora Group we strongly support our local law enforcement and community programs. We have been a long standing supporter of The Police Unity Tour Chapter IV and The Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
Mark Herring and Maggie DeBoard answered many questions from community members involving topics such as local security, drug awareness and education, and plans for drug prevention in our community. We got really interesting answers, reminding us that we are all concern about drug problems that are effecting our community an many other national cities and suburbs.
We look forward to hosting future events with The Town of Herndon and Herndon Police Department.
We invite everyone to visit http://ag.virginia.gov/index.php/hardesthit to preview a powerful documentary on the heroin and prescription drug epidemic and its effects on Virginians. The film examines the epidemic from all angles with Virginians sharing their own stories of addiction and overdose, testimony from parents who lost their children to an overdose, and insights from law enforcement and public health professionals who are working to address the crisis. Warning, this documentary contains material related to drug dependency and drug use. Viewer discretion is advised.
By educating ourselves and discussing the problem instead of avoiding we can work together to help our community.
